I wrote the demo for this song and posted it for the fan club at the end of 2018. Originally, it was loosely based on the end of a dramatic relationship in relation to the idea of the multiverse/quantum theory as I understood it from a bunch of YouTube videos. When you make a decision the reality is split into two, one with the reality you’re experiencing and one reality of the opposite result.
I rewrote the lyrics to fit the sci-fi theme of the EP from the child’s perspective and how they felt after they found out their parents messed with fate in their decision to code their genes in specific ways.
lyrics
Fate
Tell me what I’ve been missing
Whose lips I’d be kissing
If you didn’t make it this way
Safely in decline
All thoughts of regretful times
They’ve escaped to a parallel place
Multiverse we create
All our infinite fates
Shake me into life
Tell me what it would be like
If I never saw your face
Would you even know my name
I think nothing would change
Tell me I’m alive
That I’m real inside
Fate didn’t make it this way
Fate didn’t make it this way
Why’d you make it this way
